The Mind of a 6-Year-Old

My brother and I listen to much of the same music. He’s recently become obsessed with “Every Time We Touch,” “Bleeding Love,” and to the chagrin of my dad, Kawabe Chieco’s “Be Your Girl” (ok, this one is admittedly strange to hear him try to sing, but I don’t think he understands the English refrain). And a while back he liked the Backstreet Boys (I used to like them, years ago) and “Dirty Little Secret.”

Ehhh… At 6 years old, I was mainly watching Barney and Sesame Street. The anime/amvs didn’t come until the beginning of high school. Oh jeez, and I just remembered the Korean girl in his class whom he wants to be his girlfriend. I’m pretty sure I didn’t start liking the opposite sex until puberty, which came early for me, but not THAT early. I’m sure that his naive idea of a girlfriend and my perverted idea differ vastly, however.

I’ve lost track of whether I am comparing or contrasting my brother and myself.

Pop quizzes should be outlawed. Why do I have so many teachers this year who love them?

Fated to Love You is an excellent drama. There are several tear-jerking moments.

It seems likely that I will be headed to China, after 13 years, come summertime. I wonder what it’ll be like. I still remember the street vendors and the boat rides that my aunt and my grandparents took me on and the fancy mall and chasing crickets the size of a normal-sized stapler… That last one will freak me out now, I’m afraid.

Right now, it’s too early to plan, but I do think about China often. Not as often as I think about college, though.

Hence the reason I get online and try to think about neither of those, to endure the wait.

I forgot to buy a Homecoming ticket today, and it’s the last day they’re selling them.

I’ve never gone before, either, so I feel kinda lame because of this (and not because I really want to parade around in an overpriced dress inside a  crowded, dark gym).

I can still enjoy my long weekend.

First off, I’m sorry about my past couple of posts that put my friends in a negative light. I have a few close friends, so we’ve gotten to know each other perhaps too well in some instances. The truth is we’ve all been together since the beginning and have had lots of fun together, but sometimes we piss each other off, get jealous, you know… But they’ve been very kind and very, very patient and I’ve felt lucky and happy to be the receptor of their attentions.

As for even more school-related news, I like how next week we get two days off. One is because of PSAT testing, and technically the seniors don’t have to go to school at all, seeing as how we’re being encouraged to do something college-related instead, but I’m thinking I’ll just sleep in and arrive at school around noon.

If I took the whole day off, I’d wind up watching ISWAK or reading Slam Dunk. I’m watching ISWAK mainly because I find Joe Cheng and his acting/spoilt personality attractive, heh. More so, in fact, than Wu Zhun in Taiwanese Hana Kimi, although the latter is probably more eyecandy-like. And Slam Dunk is just amusing.
